No doubt that the main focus of this very busy week has been the completion of UCAS applications. Students, form tutors, subject teachers and Mrs Gilligan have been working hard together to make sure the applications are first class.  I have to say, reading and writing references is, once again, a real pleasure.  Some students are also now preparing for University interviews and we wish them well.   A huge thank you to Mrs Jackson who accompanied our Y13 Travel & Tourism students to Salford Quays to explore the relationship between urban regeneration and tourism.  I had the pleasure of attending the annual Performing Arts showcase on Thursday evening and it was superb.  Our A Level Dance and A level Theatre students set a great example to the younger students involved in the evening, exquisite and powerful performances all round.   Our musicians had a lovely evening representing the music department at Keele University for the Welsh Society’s Christmas dinner and our Maths students have had a busy week supporting a great Maths Festival and enjoying a great Breaking The Code trip. Thank you to all staff involved. I also had the pleasure of interviewing our first group of Year 11 students who are applying to study with us from September.  Places are already filling up fast and the future is bright!   Just one more thing and I am struggling to contain my excitement at this point, the keys to our new building will be handed to us on Monday!  Here’s to an exciting few weeks ahead!
