Last week got off to a busy start with our A Level Psychology students spending an informative and thought provoking day at the Law Courts in Chester. A well attended Year 12 Parents and Form Tutor Evening took place with parents having an early opportunity to discuss how the start of the year is going and the chance to attend three parent workshops designed to support the transition from school to college life. Thank you to Miss Moore, Miss Frost and Mr Reardon-Davies for leading the well received workshops.  Friends for Leisure came in to speak to our students about great volunteering opportunities as part of our Life Choices programme and members of our Student Leadership Group have been busy recruiting new Year 12 members.  Our Year 13 early entry UCAS applicants who are hoping to study at Oxbridge or Medicine / Vet Science have produced strong personal statements and their applications are almost ready to go now – a special thank you to Form Tutors and Mr Troth for providing these students with extra support so early on in the term.  Our Hospitality and Catering students ran a successful lunchtime service as part of European Day of Languages and our ‘brave’ Biologists have been very busy dissecting various organs!  Our Event Planning group have decided to arrange a Sixth Form Trip to the Christmas Markets in Manchester as their first event of the year – which sounds amazing , so watch this space for further details over the coming weeks.  Work commences next week on the exciting conversion of G8way 1 into our new Students’ Union which should be open in time for when we move in to the new build which is now almost ready to go – thank you in advance to the Property Maintenance Team and Paul Jones for their hard work with this.  So much to look forward to over the coming weeks!  Exciting times ahead!
