The summer weather may be frustrating but there is plenty of summer spirit around College at the moment. This week saw our College students playing an integral part in two fantastic evening events. Firstly the Summer Music Concert – performances by our super talented Year 12 and 13 students left me speechless. From Jonathan Vu and Caitlin Thackray’s solo performances on the violin and piano to Sophie Brett and Katie Thorley’s clarinet masterclass and not forgetting Katie French’s hilarious rendition of Poisoning Pigeons in the Park and Hannah Clarke and Chloe Ravenscroft’s beautiful vocal solos. Then Thursday evening saw the PE Department holding their Sports Awards Presentation Evening. Our A Level PE students welcomed the guests and there were special recognition awards given out to Laura Kirby [Yr 12] for her relentless commitment to sports volunteering and leadership and Gaby Goodman [Yr 12] who received the prestigious Outstanding Contribution to School Sport Award. Another successful Restaurant evening also took place with Connor, Frankie and Bryony now leading the way with a fabulous menu and first class service once again. Lastly a big thank you to all the College students who supported our Open Day on Saturday. This week has proved to everyone what fantastic, inspiring and talented role models our students are.
