What a great start to the new academic College year. Our Year 13 and 14 students have returned with a purposeful and determined manner, knowing exactly what is needed of them to make the absolute most of their last year with us. If in need of inspiration, they only need to look at their fellow students who have just left us – an amazing set of results to say the least [100% pass rate and 64% A*-B higher grade pass rate]. Our new Year 12 students are settling well as they adapt to the significant change from GCSE to Level 3 / A Level study. We welcome over 20 external students who have joined us to study from a range of other local secondary schools and a number of students from Sandbach School who are joining us to study specific subjects as part of our Sixth Form Partnership. Despite it being week 1, the extra opportunities are already flowing – initial study areas for the desirable Extended Project Qualification are being sought by Mr Reardon-Davies and applications for Gold Duke of Edinburgh are now being encouraged by Mr Hilton. Our Student Leadership Group have had their first meeting of the new year; Drama & Theatre students have already been on an enrichment trip to the Globe Theatre and two of our A Level PE and BTEC Sport students have enjoyed participating at the Level 4 National School Games in Manchester. We are still waiting patiently to move into our new building – it looks amazing inside and the big day is getting really close now.
Here’s to week 2!

Thought for the week: “Challenge yourself. Don’t settle for mediocre or good enough. There is always more, better, that next level of achievement. Go for it, believe that the best is really yet to come.” Mary-Francis Winters
