Whilst there are still many AS and A2 exams to go, College is back in full swing and Year 12 students are starting to study their A2 courses.  Nearing the end of term, we are starting to say goodbye to a number of our students who are leaving us to pursue apprenticeships in various fields.   We would like to wish Samantha Dokter good luck with her richly deserved Apprenticeship that will see her training whilst working in education at Marlfields Primary School and Holly Carter who has successfully secured a Pharmaceutical Development Apprenticeship with AstraZenica.  We are also saying goodbye to Ceira Barnes who is leaving to take up an apprenticeship and Amber wright who is relocating and continuing her studies in Gosport.  Textiles students have enjoyed a trip to the London Graduate Fashion Week – thank you Miss Mack and our Health & Social Care students have successfully completed their First Aid Training as part of their course.  Gaby Goodman [Y12] has entered a challenging Triathlon to raise funds for a charity close to her heart – Live Life Give Life – raising awareness of the importance of signing up to be a Liver Donor. If you would like to sponsor her great efforts, you can access her Just Giving page and story via this link:

Our new college is really taking shape now – the roof is on, the external brick work is growing in height every day; the internal walls are in and the electrical first fix is being completed this coming week.  We have been busy designing our new Learning Hub and Social Spaces and it really is getting very exciting now.  Our fund raising efforts continue to ensure our equipment and interior finishes do the new build justice as our Year 12 Forms engage in a competitive ‘Grow a 20’ project during PPD sessions.   If you feel that you can help or contribute to our fund raising efforts at all, please contact me at your earliest convenience.

So no signs of our College winding down for summer – quite the opposite actually.  Here’s to another successful and colourful week!
