We ask that all students achieve grade 4 or equivalent (a Level 2 pass) in at least 4 subjects, alongside the following subject specific entry requirements:
- Grade 6 in GCSE Maths (recommended 7)
What will I learn on this course?
You will develop a range of mathematical knowledge and skills including the ability to reason logically and recognise incorrect reasoning and the ability to model and solve real-world problems. You will learn about Pure Mathematics as well as statistics and mechanics.

An A level in Mathematics can lead into a number of different career paths.
There is currently a huge shortage of people with STEM skills needed to enter the workforce. As such, there are many further incentives available to those with degrees in Mathematics. There are new applications of Mathematics in technology too with game design and internet security. GCHQ has the largest group of mathematicians working anywhere in the country.
Enrichment opportunities
A level Mathematics students can attend external lectures, visit university departments, work with younger students in class and in clubs to develop their confidence in Mathematics, support an EPQ with a mathematical focus and prepare for university entrance exams.
